The living library
A book can become a door.
The mission, four programs, and the people behind the work each open a different door.
A dark bookshelf offers six readable book spines. Choosing one pulls that book forward; scrolling follows the same reversible journey. The selected clothbound book rotates onto a dark stage and opens to a clickable table of contents. Each volume has six chapters whose complete text is available through Simple view. Each chapter opens with a blank left page and its story on the right. Horizontal trackpad movement and direct mouse, pen, or touch dragging turn one page at a time while vertical movement continues to scroll the document normally. The sewn edge remains fixed in the binding. The Aviation volume includes a playable camper testimony in its program chapter. A Return to shelf control closes and replaces the selected volume. The final authored spread remains open until the footer.
